Southport Flower Show makes budding return in 2022 with BBC Gardener’s World’s Adam Frost

After last year’s cancellation and a tough 18 months of restrictions, the famous and fabulous Southport Flower Show is set to return in 2022, and organisers vow to ensure it is bigger and better than ever.

The Southport Flower Show will take place from Thursday, 18th August, until Sunday, 21st August 2022. Visitors can now purchase tickets for the four-day festival from 10 am this morning.

Most importantly, previous 2020 and 2021 ticket holders are all are warmly invited to join in the celebrations.

As the industry opens up once more, visitors are invited to soak in the relaxing summer atmosphere, surrounded by stunning show gardens and spectacular floral displays.

These beautiful gardens, created by talented horticulturalists from across the globe, will form part of the Grand Floral Marque. As always, the Grand Floral Marquee will take centre stage during the festival. But a word to the wise: green-thumbed enthusiasts may want to keep a keen eye on the show’s first special guest.

Adam Frost, of Chelsea Flower Show and BBC Gardener’s World fame, has been announced as the Southport Flower Show’s first special guest.

After discovering the joys of gardening working on his grandparent’s allotment, Adam has since branched out into a person-centred approach to horticulture, connecting garden designs and natural landscapes to the people who will enjoy them.

Adam has travelled across the world during his professional career, soaking in different styles and techniques to help him build the perfect garden. Not only this, but Adam has also hosted panels on a wide range of horticultural topics. He has even written a book called Real Gardens, detailing the memories and inspiration behind his Chelsea Gold Medal-winning designs.

Armed with his wealth of expertise and experience, Adam will be on hand to assist visitors through organised talks and Q&A sessions.

Of course, the Southport Flower Show has more on display than guided talks. Visitors can sit back, relax, and soak in the event’s fabulous line of live music. Those with a passion for gardening (both recent and longstanding) can get stuck into the Amateur Grower’s Marquee competition.

And that’s not all: eager and talented chefs in the making will also have the chance to drop in on the baking, preserve, and honey making classes, watching some of the nation’s best-loved chefs to pick up some essential tips of the trade, live from the Cookery Theatre.

Once visitors have found their pot of inspiration, they can then head to the bustling food marquee, filled with produce from over 50 independent gourmet producers. There is something for everyone at the Southport Flower Show, with over 300 fantastic trade stalls surrounded by picturesque beauty.

After the year we’ve all had, everyone deserves a little treat.
